Becca Sumka
Freelance Visual Artist
I have been interested in visual arts since I was very young. I always expressed an interest in drawing especially. I ended up creating a goal for myself that I would one day become a tattoo artist. I always wanted a job in the "art world" so I decided that would be a good career choice. After completing high school, I studied visual arts for 3 years at Georgian College. I graduated receiving a Fine Arts Advanced diploma. I have then since journeyed into the world of tattooing and have slowly learned the process. I am currently not a practicing tattoo artist as I still have a lot to learn and study so in the meantime I have been creating visual art. I have created paintings and drawings for myself and commissioned pieces for others. I am very open to creating anything anyone is interested in. I very much enjoy working for commission because I get to create something from an idea someone else has. Creating art is very important to me because it allows to me to do what I love and focus on what makes me happy in life.
I have a lot of inspirational people in my life who encourage me and challenge me every day to explore my artistic abilities. I also draw inspiration from classic painters such as Van Gogh, Dali and Picasso. I use music and the words of people to create my art work.
